The simplest things are the hardest

Short note Psychology

Ever noticed the one commonality within what experts such as doctors, counsellors, teachers and even achievers such as successful entrepreneurs, sportspeople, actors etc give as advice?

For so many ailments, a good doctor generally gives generic advice like - 'do some regular exercise' or 'go to bed on time' or 'watch your diet'. A teacher says - help others, say the truth, be a good person, plan your schedule, study well.

Successful entrepreneurs give advice such as: "Stay motivated" and "Keep trying" and "Don't give up!" and very often their audiences get bamboozled and underwhelmed thinking: "Here we are, thinking he is going to give us the shortcut to a fat swiss bank account and all he has to give as advice is - Don't give up!!!"

Life is generally simple! Its always about the basics, the fundamentals! Just doing them regularly! But we complicate everything! So much so that babas and religious cults make a living out of claiming to reintroduce us to the basics! We always had the answers, they were the same, simple ones we learnt while growing up. They never changed, we did! We make what is simple, complex! We make the normal abnormal! And therefore, when everything is abnormal, normal seems revolutionary!
